Here’s a a list of things that I found to be the most important items to pack when your traveling with a baby under 1 years old.

  1. Pack and play: this is great for sleeping at night and keeping ur baby out of other things when their awake in a hotel or relatives home. *Make sure to pack the sheets for them too!

  2. Noise machine: this is a must have in our nursery and we wouldn’t dare go anywhere without it. Olivia loves the ocean waves and sounds of nature. This is very helpful in soothing your child to sleep when their in a new place and helps to make them feel more comfortable. It also helps to drown out other noises.

  3. Diaper, diapers and more diapers: make sure u take a whole pack of diapers because you never know what could happen. Whether they eat something that upset their stomach or just had anxiety causing tummy issues. It’s always important to be prepared because who knows how far the nearest store is where you are going and god forbid you have to run out to get some due to to running out and the stores are closed🤷‍♀️. Don’t find yourself in this stressful situation. Do the same for your wipes. We make sure to pack 2.

  4. Cloths and more cloths: the rule of thumb we used was 2x the number of outfits we would have her in a day. Make sure you have a laundry bag for the dirty items and maybe even a scented bag for the blowout accident outfits! Don’t want everything to smell like that nightmare of a day!

  5. Binkie one and binkie two: make sure you have a back up binkie in the event the main one is lost or disappears. Nothing worse than a baby refusing to quite down or sleep because you can’t find the binkie. I made sure to put the main one on a clip and leave it attached to the outfit she was in or attacked to the diaper bag. Our daughter didn’t use one except when she’s napping, sleeping or having a hard time in the car.

  6. Travel containers: don’t want to bring those large super saver sized baby wash and shampoo, No problem! Go to the store before hand and buy the little travel bottles and fill them with the wash and shampoo so you can take them along for bath time. Most hotels and motels have bathtubs, so you should be good to give them a wash down while your gone.

  7. Plenty of snacks: our little one isn’t always a fan of the food we eat or it’s too spicy for her to have. We always pack baby snacks for her in this event. When we eat something that she can’t have we pull them out and provide a few of each one for her to pick from while we eat….. don’t forget the bib.

  8. Bibs and burp cloths: we have a silicone bib that we rinse off after each use and dry for the next meal with messy items. So we really only take one and that’s all we need. As far as burp cloths I normally packed 5 or 6 of them in the event she just need her face wiped off and I didn’t have a baby wipe handy.

  9. Diaper waste bags: this is a Must when you travel with a baby because those diapers can get smelly and no one wants to run out to the trash in the middle of the night to dispose of. They are scented and come with a dispenser that hangs on the diaper bag making it easy to get to. I never throw a diaper away in someone’s home trash without first putting it in one of these bags. It just seems like good manners of a guest.

  10. Toys: make sure you have packed a few of their favorite toys so when you have down time they can play with them like they would at home. No need to bring all of them, just a few. This is hard to do because most babies love all of their toys.

I hope this list helped make your packing less stressful!
